esbconnect announces four new customers for its Optivo product

Optivo, our email retargeting platform, has just landed four new customers: Go Ape, Simba, Broadband Genie and Costway. Four very different brands, all facing the same problem: most of the people who land on their site never convert, and never show up in a CRM. Optivo is built to close that gap.

Four brands, one shared problem

Every business loses the majority of its website traffic before it ever gets a chance to say hello properly. Anonymous visitors browse, compare, maybe add something to a basket, and then leave without leaving an email address behind. Optivo was built to solve exactly that: it matches unlogged-in visitors against esbconnect’s database of 17 million opted-in UK consumers, then enrols them in a fully compliant email journey within minutes.

Why email retargeting is having a moment

Social, display and search retargeting have all got more expensive and less reliable as third-party cookies and identifiers keep eroding. Email doesn’t have that problem, and the numbers back it up. Cart abandonment emails alone deliver a 26% uplift in conversion, retargeting emails see read rates above 40% with a 4X return, and Secret Sales found that customers acquired through Optivo spend 35% more than their average active customer.

Go Ape: an early win

Go Ape was one of the first brands live on the new customer cohort, using Optivo to catch visitors who browsed experiences but didn’t book. The results came quickly.

“The results have been really promising, a ROAS of 4.8 against our primary KPI,” said Charlie Du Puy, Email Marketing Manager at Go Ape.

That kind of return against a primary KPI, from traffic that would otherwise have left with no way to follow up, is exactly the gap Optivo is designed to close.

What’s next

Our CEO and founder Suzanna Chaplin sees this as proof of a broader shift in the market.

“Optivo has proven itself as a valuable retargeting tool, demonstrating email’s power as a retargeting channel,” said Suzanna. It’s a direct answer to brands feeling squeezed by the rising cost and declining reliability of social, display and search advertising.

Go Ape, Simba, Broadband Genie and Costway join a growing list of brands working with esbconnect and Optivo, including Clarks, Tails.com and Hello Fresh, all drawing on our dataset of 17 million UK consumers and 440+ data points to reach people who would otherwise be lost after a single visit.
